Our Delivery Guarantees
We guarantee live arrival of the creatures. If you have any concerns over the welfare of livestock received please telephone us on 01733 203358 within 48 hours of receiving the creatures and we will be pleased to discuss this with you. If any creature is in fact dead (this is extremely rare) you can choose to have a free replacement or a refund (issued within 7 working days).
We guarantee safe delivery of all our other goods. If any item has been delivered damaged, please telephone us on 01733 203358 within 48 hours of receiving it and we will be pleased to discuss this with you. Our items are very well packaged and so damage in transit is extremely rare; it is helpful if you can email us a photo of any damage (to: email@example.com ) so we can pursue a claim against the courier. You can choose to have a free replacement or a refund (issued within 7 working days).
We notify you by email when your item(s) are being dispatched. If you have not received them when expected, please telephone us at once on 01733 203358 so we can investigate. We have Proof of Posting on all items and will send replacements for any items that are lost in transit (this is extremely rare).
On receipt of your order, and successful processing of your card, item(s) are usually dispatched within days and you will be notified of your invoice number and delivery details by email. Legally we are required to dispatch your goods within 30 days but we strive for a fast dispatch, usually well within 14 days. Occasionally there may be delays affecting the dispatch of the livestock; for example, during spells of extreme hot or cold weather we are unable to dispatch livestock or eggs because it would be too hot or too cold for the creatures or eggs to survive. Fortunately, these extremes of weather usually only last a few days and so the delays are kept to a minimum. In these situations, we keep customers who have already placed orders up to date with anticipated delivery dates.
Distance Selling Regulations - cancellations
The Distance Selling Regulations apply only to private individuals. This means that businesses, firms, educational establishments, nature centres etc are not covered. Under the Distance Selling Regulations, you have a right to cancel your order for any item purchased on this website for a full refund. This does not apply to items personalised, e.g. personalised inscribed copies of "Keeping Stick Insects" books. Nor does this does apply to items made to your specification e.g. custom-designed cages, custom-made Liners, custom-made information display boards. Nor does this does apply to items that, by reason of their nature, cannot be returned; perishable goods (e.g. living insects, snails, eggs, leaves), and periodicals/magazines (e.g. The Bug File).
To cancel, please telephone us on 01733 203358. You can also email us at ange@ small-life.co.uk or write to us at: Small-Life Supplies, 68 Bassenhally Road, Whittlesey, Peterborough, Cambs. PE7 1RR. within seven working days** of delivery of your
item(s), quoting your invoice number. You must take reasonable care of the item(s) and must not use them. You must telephone us on 01733 203358 so we can advise on how best to package the item(s) for safe return to ourselves. Obviously, it is important that we receive any returned item(s) in good, undamaged condition. You will be responsible for the delivery cost of returning the item(s) via Royal Mail and will need to get a "Certificate of Posting" (issued free at the Post Office) as your proof of posting. A refund to the value of the items returned and the original cost of dispatch of the returned items to you will be issued within 30 days.
You may cancel an order for services in the same way, within seven working days** of the date of purchase, unless the services begin sooner.
** All days other than Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
