New Thailand stick insects are stick-like and can grow to an incredible 22cm (over 8 inches)!

They are all-female and lay eggs which hatch into more females (a process called parthenogenesis).

New Thailand stick insects eat bramble (blackberry) leaves. Their eggs hatch after two months. They are an easy stick insect to keep. Their long legs mean they need to be handled carefully.

I have seen this species being described as the Vietnamese stick insect Ramulus artemis, but that identification is incorrect.

New Thailand stick insects do well in the BSP cage. The BSP is tall (46cm, 18 inches) high so the stick insects have room to grow properly. The sides have lots of air-holes which provide the through-draught ventilation that these stick insects need. The floor should be lined with a disposable BSP Liner (replaced weekly) so the stick insects are kept in clean conditions.

New Thailand stick insects eat bramble (blackberry) leaves and the stems with bramble leaves should be kept fresh in the Sprig Pot of water. You need to mist the leaves with water every day from a plant sprayer; this is so the stick insects can drink from the droplets on the leaves.

The New Thailand stick insects kit includes everything you need to look after these stick insects properly.
